Spix's red-handed howler
Spix's red-handed howler (Alouatta discolor) is a vulnerable species of howler monkey native to the south-eastern Amazon in Brazil.[1] Major threats include deforestation and hunting. It was previously considered a subspecies of the red-handed howler, but unlike most individuals of that species the back of the Spix's red-handed howler is yellowish-brown to reddish-brown.[2]
